Plarion are able, by the precise control of spin profile parameters, to lay onto a substrate surface a uniform layer of material, in liquid form, such as dyes and UV curable lacquers.
Thin Film Spin Coating – 10 to >100 nm
“Thin” films in the tens of nanometres range play an important role in applications such as optical data discs, liquid crystals displays, solar cells, lasers, as well as imaging and other data recording systems. These can be applied to a substrate by spin coating.
The key features of spin coated thin films are:
- Film thickness range 10nm to >100nm
- Film uniformity control ± 1nm
- Film thickness control ± 1nm
- Dispense volumes < 0.20ml / sample
- Cycle time ~ few seconds depending on solvent
Thick Film Coating – micron thickness range
“Thick” film coatings at Plarion means microns thick. We can achieve uniform layers of protective coating films, or cover layers by spin coating, or by vacuum lamination. Uniformity of layer thickness of ±1% may be achieved.
